How to Choose the Right High CRI LED Bulb

Four steps to selecting a 90+ CRI LED bulb that renders color accurately in any room or fixture.

    01

    Set Your CRI Threshold

90–94 CRI for everyday living spaces. 95+ for art display, makeup, or photography. Select the threshold that matches your most demanding use case in the space.

    02

Match the Bulb Base and Shape to Your Fixture

A19/A21 for table and floor lamps, BR30 for recessed downlights, PAR38 for track lighting, E12 for chandeliers. Check base type and diameter before purchasing.

    03

Choose Lumen Output for the Room Size

450–800lm for accent fixtures. 1,600lm+ for primary ceiling fixtures. One BR30 at 650–850lm covers 25–30 sq ft in recessed downlight applications.

    04

Select Color Temperature for the Room's Purpose

2700K for bedrooms and dining. 3000K for kitchens and bathrooms. 4000K for studios and craft rooms. High CRI amplifies the impact of color temperature — the choice matters more than with standard bulbs.
